    Have you ever had a challenge on finding the best places to eat for the whole family with a kid-friendly menu and a family-friendly dining? I would be the first to raise my hand because having two kids in the house who often want different menu items all the time is a huge challenge. Finding places to eat for kids is not always easy but there are many options to choose from.

    Best Family-Friendly Restaurants

    Dave N Buster is a great place and fun places to enjoy delicious food and arcade games. It not only had outdoor dining, fun activities for the whole family, but the bests part is that it also has a full bar for the parents.

    It’s a great spot that satisfies both the parents and the children. It’s a perfect place for a good time with craft beer and flat-screen tvs. It’s one of the best places to eat for kids because of the fun they can have while eating.

    California Pizza Kitchen offers wood-fired pizzas that the kids can create a delicious pizza, cheese pizza, or even just create your own pizza. For school or fundraiser purposes, I believe they have a program where children can come and explore their facilities as well. You may need to contact your local CPK for this but they used to offer this program for many young children.

    BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse is also a full-service restaurant with great meal and fresh food for the family. You can make it be a family-style restaurant by ordering from the plenty of options available on the menu.

    It’s a great place to host a birthday party with outdoor patio and outdoor seating available at your convenience. Considering it being a local restaurant with kids menu that, even the picky eaters can enjoy.

    El Torito is a delicious Mexican food restaurant with casual dining and great food. The tortillas are freshly made as part of their own menu option. They have covered patio for outdoor seating options and kid’s menu filled with different choices for the kids to choose.

    Applebee’s is one of my kid’s favorite places to go because of the menu options from regular to the kids. It’s a friendly spot and some of their best food is offered in their happy hour section too, hence the wonton tacos. Yummy!

    Panda Express would probably be the best go to Chinese food that caters to many people all around. Their popular dishes consist of the orange chicken and the broccoli beef that many seem to love. They also have a kids menu or a smaller portion that fits children better as well.

    Red-Robin is also a great place that kids can enjoy. It’s one of the fun restaurants to visit as you walk into a stack of balloons on the sides for children to choose from. (Locations may vary depending on cities and states).

    The menu options for kids are diverse and their unlimited sides option is a bonus for the whole family. You can take turns choosing different sides to add on. The best things are during their happy hour, when you get a special discount on their floats and smoothies. You can visit for a special occasion and have a great time.

    Denny’s is also a favorite for the family because of the menu options for the whole family. What’s also a plus is that if you check your local locations, some offer free meals for kids. For our local location, kids eat free after 4pm every single day with a purchase of an adult entrée.

    Chilis also offers a good family environment filled with all types of menu items that are adult and kid friendly. They have their happy hour discounts too. The kids meals consist of burgers and pastas and sides, with a complimentary drink to accompany their meal. Adults have a special deal to choose a 3 for me deal where you choose a drink, an appetizer, and an entrée.

    Chic-Fil-A is a family restaurant that is a perfect spot for chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and kids meals that caters to the whole family. Some of the locations have a little climbing fun activity area for the kids to enjoy as well. The kids meals usually come with a some type of a learning tool that gives it one of the favorite places to eat for kids.

    McDonalds is one place you can’t forget when it comes to fast food restaurants. This is probably one of the top places to eat for kids that are loved by kids the most. The happy meal always comes with sweet treats for young kids.

    I love the fact that they try to bring back different options every so often. The McRib, the Filet O Fish Fridays during Lent season, and the different toys for the kids to enjoy with their happy meals.

    In-N-Out has one of the best burgers and French fries (well-done goes the best). If you can call it one of the local burger joints, then why not? Don’t forget to ask for the secret sauce the spread, and visit on rainy days for their free kids hot chocolate days.

    Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is known for their southern comfort food of their chicken fingers and how tender their chicken breasts can be. Although they may not offer chicken wings, their chicken fingers and the chicken tenders are loved by many.

    Subway is considered to be place to go if you want a little break from the burgers and the chicken fingers. Here you can create your own sandwich or choose from their signature and classic menus too. Their macadamia nut cookie along with a choice of a soup is a classic meal addition too.

    Sonic is known to be one of the best places for kids to eat because of their slushes, shakes, and blasts, but their kid friendly menu includes, hot dogs, hamburgers, corndog, grilled cheese, or chicken strips. You can add a side of fries, tater tots, or an applesauce pouch with it.

    It often includes a special treat that isn’t always a toy. Possibility of mini coloring books and a crayon are a choice too. Adults can choose from their hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers, and sandwiches as well too.

    The best things to consider when it comes to choosing places to eat for kids is to make their first time trip a memorable one. Whether it has fantastic food or a whole pie of chocolate delight, finding that best kid-friendly restaurants in your local area will vary on your own visits.

    2. We try to go to smaller locally owned places but this list brings back so many memories of really fun (yummy) chains – I’ve actually never been to dave n busters and my kids are old enough now i think this would be a fun family outing! Gonna do this soon, thanks for the inspo!!
